Welcome to The Voodoo Hill Explorer Club.
Maycee, my eight-year-old Great Pyrenees, and I arrived in Upper Michigan in early July.
We’ve been tent camping in the remote woods near Marquette, ever since.
There is so much I have learned about living, being alone, and Nature in the last month. And it is here, via this newsletter, plus on Medium.com, my new YouTube channel, and DonaldJClaxton.com, where I am focusing all of my publishing attentions.
For the next couple of weeks I will publish here on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and readership will be free of charge. On Aug. 15, 2022, I’ll begin posting portions of articles, with the option for you, the reader, to sign up for one of three subscription opportunities.
This will provide all of us a reward. You’ll get access to ask questions during special opportunities during the month, you’ll have great content emailed to you when it’s published, and in return, I’ll earn income geared toward keeping the channels all open.
I do not intend to use Patreon as it has a wild-assed policy where it can cancel members for things they say on a third-party’s website and then just say, “you’re cancelled.” No need for review. Nothing. All of your subscribers and income, gone.
That’s not a way to run a business and I have no intentions of supporting a company that somehow thinks it’s the thought police across the internet.
So there will be monthly memberships paid once per month 12 times each year. There also will be annual subscriptions where you can pay for 10 months and receive 12.
And I’ll also set up a committee of “founders,” who will pay extra to be on an advisory board, and help ensure I keep the content offered here on target.
My intention is to make this a rich learning experience for you while I endure the difficulties and opportunities of living off grid and deep in the northern woods.
Thank you for being here. I hope you will come back and become part of a community of outdoors adventure seekers, tent campers, bushcrafters, boondockers, wallydockers, RV and van-life travelers, and travel guides galore.
There are so many aspects and advantages to living life off grid.
Your priorities change.
And the adventure never stops.
So thanks for checking out this page. Please go ahead and add your email to the mailing list. Just click the button below!
I look forward to sharing this experience with you.
Oh, and share the news, please. This only works if we spread the learning and experiences far and wide. So do not hesitate to share. In fact, it’s encouraged!
Sincerely,
Donald J. Claxton
